What to think about
Pick by solvent system first
Tol:But polyamides (US-80 series), alcohol polyamides (US-25, US-30), ester acetate PU (Unikopak).
Substrate dictates the resin
Untreated HDPE/LDPE needs Unimide US 77; treated film tolerates US-80 / US-60.
Boost adhesion at the press
AP-X adhesion promoter routinely lifts difficult-substrate ink adhesion at low loadings.
Untreated HDPE flexo work without surface treatment.
A flexible packaging printer with adhesion issues on untreated HDPE switched the polyamide base to Unimide US 77. The ink passed tape testing without surface treatment, avoiding investment in another corona-treatment line.
